About "Uran Khas" ballet

The ballet was created based on real life, a herder boy who was named N. Gelenkhuu, in the Jargalant soum, Khuvsgul province, in northern part of Mongolia, he always wanted to fly like a bird that soars freely in the sky.

Driven by his dream, he made a wing and attached to his body and he jumped from the 200-meter-high rock. He survived landing on the sheep that were passing underneath.

The composer J.Chuluun wrote his ballet “Uran Khas” when he first heard the story that someone has such a big dream. Locals even made a statue of a boy flying and it is placed at the airport of Murun city in Khuvsgul province.
