JAMO GRAND-managers training session 2021: Influence of Worker’s Attitude and Communication Skills

As we are in the service industry running tourist camps and hotels, restaurant pub, meat production businesses, to communicate with many people, it is vital to have continuing training to charge ourselves. At this time, our Human Recourse Manager Munkhbat- Mugi organized an effective training course for the managers about “Effective listening makes you a better leader”.

As a manger, it is difficult to know what your employees are thinking about, what is troubling them. You cannot get out of a performance slump, unless you take time to listen to your employees. Mugi reminded managers that listening goes well beyond being quiet and giving someone your full attention. It requires you to be aware of body language, facial expressions, mood, and natural behavioral tendencies.

Listening should be important when you consider the uncertainty embedded in the workplace and the ongoing changes taking place.

When employees say they want their voices to be heard, they are really saying they want leaders who will not just hear them, but really listen to them.

As employees seek more attention, feedback and support, leaders must become more mindful of individual needs in order to more effectively inspire professional development and overall performance.

Managers who listen are able to create trustworthy relationships that are transparent and breed loyalty.

The managers' training team worked on a case study that since they work with Generation X to Gen Z, they need to be open-minded and how to engage with them. For example, newly hired employees will be solid at the beginning of their careers but over time their demeanor changes. So, the manager should notice that she wasn’t as engaged and enthusiastic about their work. When their performance started to negatively impact the bottom line, the manager should ask he/she if there was something that the manager could do to help.

Also, our Terelj Hills Lodge is introducing a new game, titled, “In order to put up for sale” we tried it on and it was great fun after a full day of training.
