Between taking bookings, handling transactions, conducting tours, receiving tourist bookings at the lodges it can be busy to find the time to make some renovation and improvements at the three lodges that our company run.
Since Mongolian border has been closed due to global pandemic, no local transmissions and no deaths, our company started a fun project for each lodge and has been very busy this summer.
We wanted to improve our tourist lodges the way it looks and make some renovation internally and externally. Yes, so now it is time, getting more efficient and being creative for each staff to show off their hidden skills.
“Terelj Hills Lodge” located not very far from the capital city Ulaanbaatar has been working on painting the ger it is a Mongolian portable round dwelling covered with felt and used as accommodation for centuries. The structure consists of a wooden frame painted and decorated with traditional ornamentation, covers made out by animal wool. And all this needed to be repainted and reconstructed. So, the men working on fixing and painting the wood and decoration on it. The women are washing all the furniture, sewing felt coverings and canvases. In modern time, the ger style has changed and converted in to luxury ensuite accommodation especially for the comfort of tourists.
“Lake Forest lodge” located in the Khuvsgul region in the northern part of Mongolia, working on fixing the floors of each ger and repairing stoves as well as painting and decorating furniture and ger parts. They are also posting trail markers in the woods.
The lodge is located on the shore of Khuvsgul lake which is northern border of Mongolia closer to Russian border. Which means west of the southern end of lake Baikal. A beautiful surrounding nature has a healing atmosphere and good place for relaxing.
Dream Gobi lodge is building swimming pool and spa which is unusual in the Mongolian Gobi Desert. Our team of lodge staff have been busy this summer doing lots of improvements around the camp and learning new skills working on the project under the supervision of General manager and professional team that building the swimming pool and relaxation spa. The Gobi Desert is the sixth-largest desert in the world and Asia's 2nd largest. The Gobi is known in history as the location of several important cities along the Silk Road and discovering first dinosaur eggs by American explorer Roy Chapman Andrews.
